Indu’s name means – the moon. The moon illuminates, shining in a dark sky, moving through inner and outer worlds. This non-fiction film is a poetry narrative that journeys into the soul; multiple moments of a search and an exploration.
The film navigates the personal and the political through the depth and spirit of the poetry. There is love and tenderness, a sharp critique of gender biases, an existential questioning, a clear look at a world riddled with injustice, and a searing desire for transcendence.
Indu’s voice traverses varied and complex preoccupations in a layered aesthetic that is deceptively simple and direct. Imbued with a force and autonomy that emerges from an innate freedom, the poems are immersive, mesmerising, sensuous.
The film reflects this essence in an experiential, experimental way with a cinematic celebration of words and poetry.
