Reminiscence of my time in my alma mater, Film and Television Institute of India, Pune, way make in early 1990s; of how the atmosphere of an indiscriminative gaze in the institute healed my heart and helped me to accept myself as I am, helped me to find joy and the freedom to be me.

Pinky Brahma choudhury is a documentary filmmaker. Her film DUPHANG-NI SOLO (1997) intoned the nuances of a political movement for identity by the Boro people and the violence it entailed. Founder-director of SPS Community Media, located in rural Madhya Pradesh, she has mentored rural youth in weaving media stories of strife and fortitude of people on the margin, on environment and people’s memories.
