An Ode To the Saree is a reminescene by the first lady student of FTII , Parvati Menon(Nayar),who specialized in Advance Direction ,to take on her professional challenges clad in a sari.Till then Direction was a Man’s Job!! Her then principals wife, the nonagenarian Mrs Murari recalls the Institutes reaction on welcoming its First Female student. This short video is a stout confirmation that Saree, the heritage women’s wear of India,is no impediment in any profession.
Director’s Bio: Parvati Menon focused on making films for young audiences and Youth in particular. She was,the Chief Producer and CEO of Childrens Film Society,India under IB ministry.Been on many juries. Is an author and Film Activist too.
