Director Story

Starting out as an independent documentary filmmaker, Sehjo Singh dealt with a very wide range of social justice issues for over two decades and made films that won national and international awards and critical acclaim. She then served as the Executive Director of National Centre for Advocacy Studies and in 2011 joined as Director of Programmes and Policy at ActionAid India. She oversaw programme and policy advocacy with oversight of teams supporting 300 partnerships with community-based organisations.  Her last preoccupation has been setting up a producer-owned companies in Ethiopia with Industree Foundation and International Trade Centre, and currently supports social enterprises in advisory roles. She is an active member of the Vikalp Sangam. She has written, taught, and travelled widely and raised two children.
